Sarah Reynolds
Bio

Sarah Reynolds is a singer, voice teacher and performing arts educator living in Los Angeles. She is a frequent soloist with the Colburn Community Chorale under the direction of Dr. Steven Kronauer, most recently performing Brahms’ Rhapsodie, Op. 53. Other recent credits include Metropolitan Master Chorale (Mozart’s Requiem) and Southern California Lyric Theater at the Hollywood Fringe Festival 2013 (Aesopera). This Spring, Sarah will be singing the roles of Orfeo in Gluck’s Orfeo and Euridice and the Sorceress and Spirit in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas with Opera Dockweiler, and making her Long Beach Opera Chorus debut in the SoCal premiere of Adam’s Death of Klinghoffer. Sarah is a graduate of The New England Conservatory of Music, MM Vocal Performance, and The College of New Jersey, BM Vocal Performance. She currently serves as the Alto Soloist and Section Leader at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Monrovia.

A life-long advocate for music and performing arts education, Sarah was a registered Music Together® teacher from 2010-2013 and served on the teaching staff of Dragonfly DuLou, where she also offered youth improv classes. During the same period she was an Artist-in-Residence at the Hollywood Children’s Garden Preschool, where she shared her own dynamic curriculum in weekly music classes. Before moving to LA, Sarah taught music and performing arts for several years within the Boston Public school system. Sarah currently teaches private voice lessons to students of all ages out of her home studio in Los Feliz.

Sarah is a former cast member of the ImprovBoston theater (awarded “Best of” comedy clubs in the Boston Phoenix and the Improper Bostonian several years running) and has performed regionally at many comedy festivals, including the Del Close Marathon in NYC and Boston’s Women in Comedy Festival. She co-created a fully improvised and interactive ImprovBoston Family Show (Nickelodeon Parents’ Pick Award 2009), and performed with IB’s Mainstage, Harold Teams, and in featured shows such as Tiny Little Lungs, a two-woman improvised musical/opera, and The Wasteland Comedy Hour with T.S. Eliot, a multi-media sketch show for which she contributed as a writer, performer, and music director. Sarah has taught improv to adults and children both through ImprovBoston’s workshops, and in association with Young Audiences, a national program that brings professional performance arts educators into public schools.
